Backup Policy

1. Overview

Webmagic is committed to providing reliable hosting services, including automated backup support to help protect client data. However, backups are a shared responsibility between Webmagic and the client. This policy outlines how our backup system works and what clients are expected to do to safeguard their data.

2. Automated Weekly Backups

Webmagic performs automated weekly backups for all shared hosting accounts. These backups are:

  1. Generated once every week
  2. Retained for a maximum of 7 days
  3. Stored securely on our backup servers
  4. Intended for emergency restoration only

Clients should note that Webmagic does not guarantee the availability, completeness, or accuracy of any backup beyond the 7?day retention period.

3. Backup Limitations

Our automated backup service has the following limitations:

  1. Only one backup cycle is stored at any given time
  2. Backups older than 7 days are automatically overwritten
  3. Backups may not include emails, databases, or files if they exceed system limits
  4. Backups are not guaranteed in cases of hardware failure, malware, or client?side deletion

Webmagic is not liable for data loss resulting from failure to maintain personal backups.

4. Client Responsibility for Manual Backups

To ensure maximum data protection, clients are strongly encouraged to create and store their own manual backups. Recommended storage options include:

  1. Personal computers
  2. External hard drives
  3. Secure cloud storage services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or any trusted third?party provider

Clients should perform manual backups especially before:

  1. Major website updates
  2. Plugin or theme installations
  3. Website migrations
  4. Structural changes to databases

5. Restoration Requests

If a client requires restoration from our automated backup:

  1. Restoration is subject to availability of the backup
  2. Restoration fees may apply depending on the hosting plan
  3. Webmagic cannot guarantee full recovery of all data

6. No Guarantee of Backup Success

While Webmagic takes reasonable measures to maintain backup systems, we do not guarantee:

  1. That backups will always be available
  2. That backups will always be complete
  3. That backups will restore the website exactly as it was

Clients are responsible for maintaining their own independent backups at all times.

7. Acceptance of Policy

By using Webmagic hosting services, clients acknowledge and agree to this Backup Policy and accept responsibility for maintaining their own data backups.
